01 / Why public service
Because important systems need practical people.
Recruitment gave me an unusually direct view of how the economy feels at ground level. You see confidence rise and fall. You see what employers reward, where skills gaps emerge and how a single decision can change a family's direction.
My work with AI added another perspective. Technology now influences who sees an opportunity, who gets assessed and how public trust is built or lost. The people shaping policy need to understand those systems well enough to challenge them.
Politics is where decisions about work, opportunity, security and national capability come together. I want to bring the experience I have gained in those areas to the service of a community and the country.

Expertise matters, but so does lived experience. Good representation begins with paying attention.
Prefer evidence to easy certainty.
Ask what is known, what is assumed and what would change the conclusion.
Judge ideas by what happens next.
Announcements are not outcomes. Accountability continues after the decision is made.
